Delegate Garrett Appointed To Three House Committees
Richmond, VA: Today is the first day of the 2016 General Assembly Session. Upon his re-election as Speaker, Delegate William Howell appointed House members to standing committees of the Virginia House of Delegates. Delegate Scott Garrett was appointed to three committees: Appropriations, Transportation, and Health, Welfare, and Institutions. These are the committees he also served on last term.
On the House Appropriations Committee, Del. Garrett will serve on three sub-committees: Health & Human Resources, Compensation & Retirement, and Transportation. This is the first year he will serve on the Transportation Sub-Committee.
“I am honored to represent the 23rd House District in Richmond. And I appreciate Speaker Howell’s committee assignments, which draw on my strengths and the interests of my community. Standing committees are a key element of our state legislative process. I look forward to once again diving into the details of the proposed policy and budget issues before us this year,” said Delegate Garrett.
Delegate T. Scott Garrett, M.D. represents the 23rd District in the Virginia General Assembly, which includes portions of Amherst County, Bedford County, and the City of Lynchburg.
