When: Thursday, August 4, 2011, 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Where: Salvation Army, 2215 Park Avenue, Lynchburg
Why: On Thursday, August 4, Delegate T. Scott Garrett, M.D. will partner with the Lynchburg Salvation Army to collect school supplies for area elementary school students in need. The Salvation Army has a school bus parked in the front of their building where members of the public are encouraged to bring their donations. Delegate Garrett will be stationed outside of the school bus on Thursday, August 4, to highlight this important cause and to collect donations.
“I am honored and humbled to partner with the Salvation Army to ensure that children in our community are best prepared to begin a new school year with the necessary school supplies. It is because of charitable organizations, like the Salvation Army, that local families in need can be touched by a helping hand. I encourage everyone in the community to consider donating supplies or resources to the many back-to-school drives being held across the area,” said Delegate Garrett.
Delegate T. Scott Garrett, M.D. represents the 23rd District in the Virginia General Assembly.
